Sports Interactive have released their plans for the future, and Football Manager 2025 is poised to prove itself as a true sequel to the franchise. According to the developers, the Unity engine will be used for the production of titles.
The engine is cited in the company’s press release as the creative tool behind Genshin Impact and Cities Skylines. Players won’t see it in action on FM 24, which will still use technologies present in the studio today.
For those unfamiliar with gaming technologies – simply put, the FM25 will have a significantly better gaming experience – both on the field and in stadium environments with the crowd, along with a vastly improved user interface that will dramatically improve the way you navigate screens and access all the information available to you as a manager.
The company has confirmed that the next releases in the series will come to the PS5, Xbox Series, smartphones and PC. On mobile, this experience will not see the same improvements when Football Manager 25 is released.
Women’s football will be part of Football Manager 25

The FM25 cycle will also see the long-awaited introduction of women’s football to the Football Manager series. Before we get into the details, we want to acknowledge that since we announced our commitment to introducing the female game in July 2021, we haven’t provided any further public updates on the project, which has led to speculation and some frustration.
According to the studio, progress in several areas of production for the introduction of athletes is going well and the modality deserves to deliver the best possible experience of the scenario to the public. Football Manager 25 will not be revealed until the middle of 2024.
It is worth mentioning that the franchise is not released in Brazil, so the 2025 version is unlikely to come here.
