SANTO DOMINGO.- With the aim of promoting various sports and stimulating the student body to develop the educational values ​​of these disciplines, the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) took its “Training with the Stars” program this Wednesday to the Santo Cura de Ars educational center, in the sector Capotillo, where sports props were also delivered.

The conference was directed by Alberto Rodríguez Mella, executive director of INEFI, in which the athletes Yamilet Peña and Camila Hernández gave talks, and there were also exhibitions of judo, karate, boxing, badminton, chess, table tennis, volleyball , among other functional exercises.

Rodríguez Mella expressed his satisfaction by bringing the exhibition of all these disciplines to the school, which were directed by renowned athletes and Immortals of the sport, such as Blanca Iris Alejo, who directed table tennis; Olympic medalist Félix Díaz, in boxing, and Bethania de la Cruz, in volleyball.

“Being here is not only a commitment, but an obligation that we have with the Dominican youth so that we can continue developing the sport in all the schools of the country,” said Rodríguez Mella before a packed CESCA crowd.

He revealed that all the effort he has been making since he took over the leadership of INEFI, in November, has been motivated and supported by President Luis Abinader Corona and the Minister of Education, Ángel Hernández, whose “reciprocal objective is to give him joy, space and entertainment for the new generations of professionals in this neighborhood”.

Rodríguez Mella confessed that wherever he is, he will always be supporting sports and physical education in all public and private schools in the Dominican Republic.

During the busy day, clinics were also given by Ana Villanueva and Karina Díaz, in karate; the FIDE master, Braulio Ramírez, chess; Eriberto Aza, in judo, while German Alejo was in charge of the functional exercises.

Father Acevedo thanked the contribution made by INEFI to CESCA, since “in this way, our students and the community members of this sector would be involved in education and at the same time be able to excel in sports.”
