There is a young girl who has had a string of successes in this year 2023, Olympe Travain, who at the age of 15 has just won, at the beginning of July, the national patent diploma with honors, which augurs well for a more than clear academic future. But there, it is for her sports performance that she is honored.
Indeed, this young Villaliéroise has been practicing her passion for judo for more than 10 years. And it was in Olympic Carcassonne that the judokate rubbed shoulders with Cyril Juffroy (trainer and world champion of ju-jitsu in 2003), which allowed her to discover this discipline of martial art and especially to take part in a competition with a title at stake (that of French champion of ju-jitsu fighting U16).
Crowned with this first title, she found herself qualified directly for the European championships in the discipline and performed brilliantly in this competition, since she won the bronze medal in her category after only 4 months of practice.
Thus, on the strength of this record, she is now selected to represent France at the Youth World Championships (U16, U18, U21) which will take place from August 22 to 25 in Kazakhstan (in the city of Astana) with two other athletes from Aude who are also qualified: Alan Gaspard, already an international medalist: French champion, European champion, vice-world champion; and Ege Turan (vice-champion of France) who will also take part in his first World Championship.

For this experience at the end of the world, they will be well accompanied and above all coached by the reigning World Champion (released in November 2021) Estelle Gaspard. This will imply for them a serious and studious summer in terms of training but also costs to take part in these worlds (travel, accommodation).
