Alessandro Lever Signs Two-Year Agreement with Gevi Napoli Basket: Boosting the Team’s Power Forward Position

Gevi Napoli Basket’s first official transfer market shot. After saying goodbye to Andrea Zerini in recent days, the blue club announced the signing of power forward, born in 1998, Alessandro Lever, who has signed a two-year agreement with the Neapolitan club.

Forward/centre measuring 208 centimeters and weighing 104 kilos, Alessandro Lever was born in Bolzano on 4 December 1998. Raised in the Piani Bolzano youth academy, he joined the Pallacanestro Reggiana nursery at the age of 16. In red and white, he played for three seasons playing in the Under 17, Under 18 and Under 20 Elite leagues, also obtaining a title of national vice-champion in the latter category and making his debut in Serie A.

In his basketball curriculum, also several appearances in the national youth teams from Under 16 to Under 20 and a bronze medal at the Under 18 European Championships in Turkey: since 2017, he has decided to take up the overseas “challenge” and join the group of antelopes of Grand Canyon University, a college with which he played for four seasons and was included in the ideal quintet of the Western Athletic Conference in 2020/2021. In the USA he did well, closing his academic career as the second player for appearances in college history and third best scorer: in 2020/2021, he averaged 13.3 points and 5.7 rebounds, shooting 50.9% from two, 37.8% in triples and 63.4% free throws.

In the last two seasons he returned to Italy playing with Pallacanestro Trieste, where in the last championship he averaged 6.7 points and 2.7 rebounds, shooting 50% from two and 46.7 from three .
