Andrey Rublev won his second title this season with the final success in Bastad

The final at the ATP World Tour 250 event in Bastad produced two sets that could hardly have been more different: In the duel between the two top seeded players at the clay court event in Sweden, the Russian Andrey Rublev clearly won 7: 6 (3), 6: 1 against the favored Norwegian Casper Ruud after 1:32 hours of play.

The first set was still really hard fought and the serve performances of both opponents were high, but the Scandinavian had nothing to order in the second round against the powerful baseline game of the 25-year-old. In the end, Ruud finished the match with a double fault.

While the man from Moscow was able to claim his 14th ATP Tour title – after Monte Carlo his second this season – the fourth in the world rankings from Oslo has to wait for his 11th triumph so far on the big men’s tour. Ruud won the 250 clay court event in Estoril in early April and was in the final for the second time in a row at the French Open in June.

Here the single tableau from Bastad.
