Joel Schwärzler plays against Dennis Novak in the Kitzbühel qualifier
Well, that’s a treat for the Austrian tennis fans on the qualifying Saturday at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel. Because Joel Schwärzler, currently probably the greatest red-white-red young hope, meets Dennis Novak. Which of course also means that at least one Austrian will make it into the second round. The match between Novak and Schwärzler is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on Center Court.
The other local heroes didn’t get it easy though: Lukas Neumayer has to play number one in qualifying, Argentinian Federico Coria. Lucas Miedler plays against the strong Serbian Hamad Medjedovic. And Maximilian Neuchrist is dealing with Facundo Bagnis, who just a few days ago fully challenged Dominic Thiem in Umag.
Thiem and Sebastian Ofner are firmly represented in the main draw.
