Bogdan Mykhaylichenko has been sidelined by Anderlecht and Brian Riemer. Yet, if only temporarily, it could bring something.
Pre-seasons are always tricky, as clubs have to juggle new arrivals, players wanting to land a transfer and excess loan returns. The balance is difficult to find.
Brian Riemer seems to have made a clear choice: players who should not stay will be sidelined in preseason. This is often politics in Anderlecht, but it seems to ignore a reality: the needs in certain positions.
Club is looking for back(s)
In this case, that of side defender. Every summer, it’s the same song: Anderlecht needs backs. In the plural, and on each side if possible. The only Amir Murillo on the right has been for sale for a long time, by the way, without ever having been removed from the core…because he is the only one in his position.
Killian Sardella is tossed from left to right doing his job rather well, but the RSCA hoped until the last second to transfer Harry Taffolo last winter to the position of left back. Now, Riemer has a left back at his disposal, who knows the house and is far from being a bad player, coming out of a decent season at a big Ukrainian club.
However, Bogdan Mykhaylichenko therefore trains apart. Is this a good decision? It’s a safe bet that in the event of problems at his post at the start of the season and if the Ukrainian does not find a buyer, the RSCA coach will review his copy.
