Following his provisional arrest, the Manchester United attacker was immediately suspended – and remains so to this day. The case against Greenwood was dropped earlier this year. British police said the charges had been dropped by prosecutors. The withdrawal of important witnesses and new findings were the reason for the decision.

United then said the club would now conduct their own process before deciding on the next steps. To date, Greenwood is suspended and is not allowed to train or play with the team.
