Campus Pro Patria Judo’s Olympic Weightlifting Section Shows Encouraging Results in Youth Participation

The sports mission of Campus Pro Patria Judo (Olympic Weightlifting section) is giving encouraging results in terms of youth participation at the biancoblù club. Participations that resulted in a further selection of athletes who then took part in the fourth round of the regional open of Olympic Weightlifting, in Travagliato from 30 June to 2 July.

Specifically, the athletes Pietro Guarnoni and Chiril Gordei dominated the U15 55 kg. category, conquering a regional gold for Pietro with personal bests in the competition 61 kg. snatch and 69 kg. momentum and a bronze for Chiril who, due to an elbow injury, had to reduce his performance by finishing the race heroically with 55 kg. snatch and 30 kg. of momentum.

Both athletes have already participated in regional rallies aimed at high Olympic specialization.

Another athlete in the U15 developmental age who has had appreciable technical progress is Michael Cannone, 81 kg category, second classified with 50 kg. snatch and 60 kg. of momentum, improving by 10 kg. the performance compared to the last race.

Other athletes in the race, but this time seniors, Marco Gerla cat. 81 kg., ranked sixteenth out of over 30 athletes; he too had to adopt a low profile due to injury and therefore finished the race with 76 kg. snatch and 100 kg. momentum, and Sebastian Daraban, cat. 89 kg., Absent for a few years for work reasons, when he returned he found a hellish circle dominated by highly trained athletes; in any case, not at all intimidated, he led a race that allowed him to win the silver medal with a difference of 1 kg. from the third. Great return for him with 111 kg. snatch and 135 kg. of momentum.

Federica Mara was on Sunday, Junior cat athlete. up to 59 kg which has the tatami as its priority but which is also able to leave its mark on the regional Olympic weightlifting platforms, second classified with a personal best in the competition: i.e. 55 kg. snatch and 65 kg. of momentum.

Campus Pro Patria Judo ranked sixth out of 21 Lombard clubs.

Pro Patria which continues the process of city consolidation relating to five-circle sports realities, in this case we are talking about Olympic weightlifting, not only as an elite training tool for functional fitness, but as a youth training tool.
