Carolina Marín Advances to Final of European Games Badminton Tournament

Carolina Marín from Huelva qualified to play the final of the badminton tournament of the European Games in Krakow after beating the British Kirsty Gilmour 21-13 and 21-11, in just 40 minutes of play.

The Spanish multi-champion, sixth in the world rankings, dominated from start to finish and raised the score of the matches played with the British, number 32 in the ranking, to 7-1.

Marín’s rival will be the winner of the other semifinal that will be played by the Swiss Jenjira Stadelmann and the Danish Mia Blichfeldt.

In judo, the mixed Spanish team, made up of José Antonio Aranda, Cristina Cabaña, Daniel Nieto, Eunate Extebarría, Irinel Chelaru and Adriana Rodríguez, was eliminated in the round of 32 after losing to Austria 4-3.

In kayak slalom, Pau Echaniz qualified for the final, something that Miguel Trave and David Llorente did not achieve.
