Controversy Surrounds Slippery Turf at State Farm Stadium During Super Bowl LVII

State Farm Stadium was the subject of a controversy involving the grip of its turf during Super Bowl LVII. According to local reports, athletes from both the champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles complained about the slippery ground in the final. The NFL seems, however, to differ.

As reported by Mike Florio, a reporter for Pro Football Talk, this Tuesday (04), the league got in touch with representatives of the two teams and blamed the non-use of shoes suitable for that type of lawn by the players. Complaints were also filed by players from the Universities of Michigan and TCU, who played on the same stage six weeks earlier for the Fiesta Bowl.

Still according to Florio, several Philadelphia players even changed their boots during the break of the 38-35 defeat. The final was considered one of the great decisions in the recent history of American football.

Fortunately for the Eagles, the team will not return to Arizona this season and will only face the Cardinals on New Year’s Eve, but at home at Lincoln Financial Field. Kansas City, on the other hand, will play at the stadium during preseason.
