The Czech couple did not enter the match well and lost the first set 17:21. Hermannová and Štochlova decided to win the second set in a dramatic ending, where they wrestled with the Swiss for the lead for a long time and finally succeeded 26:24.
The Czech representatives had to change the score even in the decisive third set. In the end, they allowed Böbnerová and Vergéová-Dépréová to take a 12:10 lead, but then Hermannová and Štochlova won four points in a row and did not let go of the lead.
In the semi-finals, the Czech pair, who eliminated the Olympic winner and former world and European champion Laura Ludwig and Louisa Lippmann from Germany in the quarter-finals, were defeated by the Brazilian duo Carol and Bárbara.
Although Hermannová and Štochlova erased a six-point deficit in the first set, they ended up losing it 18:21. In the second set, they were able to keep up with the world’s top five only to a score of 10:11. Then the Brazilians won six points in a row and decided.
