The new head coach in Denver was relentless with his predecessors, sentencing. “Everything I Heard… We’re Doing The Opposite”

ENGLEWOOD — The head coach of the Denver Broncos, Sean Paytonhas said he doesn’t want his team to look in the rearview mirror, but he took a long look himself during an interview with USA Today Sports that was published Thursday.

In the mood to spread out, Payton described the work of Nathaniel Hackett and his group with Broncos in 2022 as “one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL“, and said that there were “20 dirty hands” around the quarterback Russell Wilson during the worst season of his career, one that included just 16 touchdown passes and 55 sacks to lead the league.

al final, Payton he summed it up with the words: “Everything I heard last season, we’re doing the opposite.”

Payton He also set his sights on the new employer of Hackett –los New York Jets— where the coach serves as offensive coordinator and the team acquired a high-profile quarterback via trade Aaron Rodgersvery similar to how Broncos they had acquired Wilson last year.

“It doesn’t happen often where a team from the NFL or an organization are humiliated,” said Payton to USA Today. “And that happened here. Part of it was his own fault, relating to spending so much mald—time trying to win the campaign recess, public relations, pomp and circumstance, marching people all over the place and all that.

“We’re not doing any of that. Jets they did this year. You see. ‘Hard Knocks’, all of that. I can see it coming. remember when [el ex propietario de Washington] Dan Snyder put together that’Dream Team‘? I was with the Giants [en el 2000]. He was a young coach. I thought, ‘How are we going to compete with them? Deion [Sanders] there now’. That team won eight games or whatever. So listen up… just invest in the work.”

Los Broncos will face the Jets in Week 5, receiving the new team of Hackett on Sunday, October 8.

Payton has received many opportunities, has been asked locally multiple times about the performance of Wilson and the Broncosand the strongest comments he made were that the offense, as well as the level of the team in a 5-12 season, was “difficult to watch” and that Wilson he would not be allowed to have a personal coach or other support by his side within the team compound.

Payton also made his comments to USA Today after he had deflected multiple questions about Wilson to more than 50 members of the local media just minutes before. Payton He is not scheduled to speak after practice this Thursday, but will after Friday’s session.

Payton has supported Wilson throughout the offseason and offering more structure and a better “vision” on offense will help the 12-year veteran get his form back. He told USA Today that Wilson “He has a lot left in the tank,” adding:

“Man, we’ve put that kid through the car wash like a hundred times already. But, it’s the plot to follow, though. What’s it going to look like now? How is it going to work? Guess what? We’re working to figure it out, like i used to say Bill [Parcells]”.

And, regarding the treatment of Hackett and the general manager George Patonof Wilson, Payton told USA Today:

“Oh man, there’s so much dirt around that. There’s 20 dirty hands, for what was allowed, tolerated in the mal— therapy rooms, the boardrooms. The offense. I don’t know a Hackett. Many people have land in their hands. It wasn’t just Russell. It wasn’t just a damper. He still has it. This s— that he ran into a wall? Wow, they couldn’t even call a play. They were 29th in the league in pre-cross penalties on both sides of the ball.

“That was not his fault,” he added. Payton. “It was the parents who allowed it. That’s not to incriminate him, but to incriminate the head coach, the general manager, the president and everyone else who saw it happen. Now, a quarterback having an office and having a place to study video is normal. But, all those things are magnified when you’re losing And all the other things, I’ve never heard of that. We’re not doing that.”

When asked by Dianna Russini about ESPN If you wish to clarify any of your comments, Payton he said he is just rooting for his players, who he believes deserved better.
