The evening is called “The Unveil”, the unveiling. On July 16, Lionel Messi will be officially presented by Inter Miami at the club’s stadium, the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, north of Miami. The Argentinian has announced that he will join the United States and MLS after the end of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain last June.
The event will feature “exciting entertainment, on-pitch speeches and more”, the club said in a press release, which did not mention Messi’s name. The recent world champion with Argentina will be watched by club co-owner David Beckham.

While the club has just named the former coach of FC Barcelona and the Argentina team, Gerardo “Tata” Martino, at the head of the team, another former Barça could join Miami. This is Sergio Busquets, who could be presented on the same occasion as the sevenfold Ballon d’Or.
Messi is set to make his debut on the pitch on July 21 against Mexican club Cruz Azul in the new Leagues Cup, a tournament between top division clubs in the North American soccer league (MLS) and the Mexican league. Inter Miami are bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference and rank 28th out of 29 clubs in the league.
