Davinson Sánchez is no longer in the plans at Tottenham Hotspur and could be collected for fifteen million euros this summer. Several clubs have ears to his arrival.
Ajax supporters didn’t like it for a while when Sánchez closed the door of the Johan Cruijff ArenA behind him in the summer of 2017. The Colombian had made the switch from Atlético Nacional from his home country to Ajax for less than six million euros a year earlier, but developed so stormy that Tottenham Hotspur paid almost ten times for him. The departure of Sánchez left a big gap, but it did yield 42 million euros for the team from Amsterdam.
Six years later he would be allowed to leave London for not even half that amount. According to Relief Tottenham Hotspur requires fifteen million euros for the defender, who has become less and less involved over the years. He played in eighteen league matches last season. He only started eight of those as a basic player. Sánchez had to put up with Cristian Romero and Eric Dier at Tottenham Hotspur, among others, and now his club is also a stone’s throw from Micky van de Ven. According to De Telegraaf, the Dutchman has reached a personal agreement with the North London club.
Van de Ven comes, Sánchez will most likely leave. If we have to believe Relevo, he has nothing to complain about interest from other clubs. For example, Villarreal, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray and Spartak Moscow would be interested in his arrival. At Villarreal, Sánchez is in the picture as a replacement for Pau Torres, who will be a player of Aston Villa from next season. The Spaniard leaves Spain for at least 35 million euros, so the asking price of Tottenham Hotspur should not be a problem for Villarreal. Sánchez still has a contract in London until the summer of 2024.
