HEESCH – The last weeks of the badminton season have been busy for the youth members of the Heesche Badminton Association. For four Fridays, in addition to training, the club championships were also fought. In a tournament format called ‘the final battle’, youth members competed against each other in four classes. By challenging each other, points could be earned for a ranking and the higher the opponent’s class, the more points could be won.
There has been plenty of fighting for the points in recent weeks. No less than 351 games were played and until the last minute there was fierce fighting for the points. But the final battle also has an end. The battle ended on Friday 30 June and the club champions of 2023 were announced.
In the class for the youngest players, the D-class, Julia already won Eido the main prize. In the C-class it was Thirza van de Ven who remained in control of all opponents. In the B division, Messi has already shown Eido his class and scored the most points. In the class for the oldest youth players it remained exciting for a long time, but Noa de Leijer emerged as the winner. For the decision in the class for the supervisors, almost an extra round was needed. But just before the finish, trainer Hennie Buurmijn was crowned champion there.
