Hermannová and Štochlova made it through the qualification in Canada among the top eight. They have already completed five matches at the tournament, losing only the second duel in the basic group against the Italians Valentina Gottardi and Marta Menegatti (21:23 and 16:21). They went from second place to the play-offs against the still undefeated 21-year-old Spaniards, against whom they scored their first two-set win in Edmonton.
In the quarter-finals, the Czechs will face Rio Olympic champion and former world and European champion Laura Ludwig and her partner Louisa Lippmann from Germany.
