Based on a photo distributed on Twitter, Ajax seems to be working on the arrival of Josip Sutalo. Director of football affairs Sven Mislintat seems to have been spotted on Sunday morning at Schiphol, from where he would fly to the Croatian capital Zagreb.
A Twitterer who calls himself The King posted a photo on Sunday morning on which a figure can be seen from quite a distance that indeed resembles the German Ajax director. The photo is said to have been taken at the gate of the flight to Zagreb on Sunday morning. A quick search shows that a KLM flight from Amsterdam to the Croatian capital did indeed depart at 09:05 on Sunday.

In Croatia, Mislintat could enter into talks with Dinamo Zagreb, Sutalo’s current employer. The Telegraph already reported on Saturday that the 23-year-old central defender would be the top candidate to close the gap that has arisen at Ajax after the departure of Jurriën Timber. Mislintat has to bring a considerable amount of money for this; the Croats would bet on an amount of at least twenty million euros.
Sutalo is an eight-time international from Croatia. He made his debut for the country in June 2022 and played one match at the World Cup in Qatar: the consolation final against Morocco. Last month he played with Croatia against the Dutch national team in the semi-finals of the Nations League, which was won by Croatia 2-4 after extra time.
