ROVIGO – During the week, the diamond in via Vittorio Veneto is once again dressed in blue. The Baseball Softball Club Rovigo, branded Itas Mutua, hosted the U-15 baseball team. A gathering that follows a few weeks later that of the Under 18 softball selection, confirming the growing national vocation of the Rovigo field. The Under 15 national team under the orders of managers Gianguido Poma she trained in the headquarters of the rossoblù club from Monday to Thursday to better prepare for participation in the next European Championship in her category, which will take place in Trnava (Slovakia) in just over a month. Therefore, that Rovigo was a fundamental stage in the Azzurrini’s seasonal journey, also because no other rallies are scheduled from now on, except the one that will precede the departure for the European Championship.
The Under 15 national team was welcomed by the city councilor for sport Mattia Milan, who met the staff and the young athletes. The two athletes of the Adriatic Lng Baseball Softball Club Rovigo, Valendino Chinedozi and Andrea Bergamasco, both called up in the Under 15 group and protagonists of the meeting, also did the honors for the entire group. Together with their national team mates, they carried out six training sessions which satisfied the technical staff, who were also enthusiastic about the hospitality and support provided by the entire Rovigo beat and run scene.
The umpteenth visit of an Azzurri selection to Rovigo confirms how the Rovigo facility, thanks to the improvements made in recent years, lends itself to welcoming activities of a national scope and, with a few further precautions, could soon also become the venue for European youth competitions.
