The Laurentians delegation finished the first block of competitions of the 57th Final of the Quebec Games by provisionally occupying the sixth place in the general classification of the regions.

Following this first block of competition, in the rankings of the various disciplines, the Orange and Black finished first in open water swimming, third in pool swimming, sixth in men’s basketball, seventh in athletics and women’s basketball, 12th in cycling. road, women’s beach volleyball and men’s beach volleyball, 15th in triathlon and 16th in men’s baseball.

The athletes from the Laurentians delegation to the 57th Final of the Quebec Games began the second block of competitions with the same energy displayed by winning three medals on the fifth day of competition. They did well in golf and mountain biking, notably with the bronze medal for Lauriane Blais, from Sainte-Adèle, 5th places for Sierra Jolicoeur, Mont-Tremblant and Maveric Lapointe, from Saint-Sauveur.

As a team

The women’s soccer team began its tournament with a fine 3-0 victory against the representatives of Montreal. The boys were ruthless for the South West colors, which they defeated 7-0. Both teams will play the quarter-finals on Thursday.

In women’s baseball, the Laurentians defeated the representatives of Estrie 10 to 0. They will complete the group phase of the tournament with games against teams from Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec on Thursday.

As of July 27, our athletes had won a total of 37 medals, including 13 gold, 7 silver and 17 bronze.
