Lázaro Alonso’s Grand Slam Leads Leones de Yucatán to Victory over Tabasco

Lázaro Alonso hit a key grand slam in the 4th inning to pace the Leones de Yucatán in their 6-0 blanking of Tabasco. The power-hitting first baseman went yard for the third time and has now driven in 11 runs on the campaign.

Onelki García was also masterful on the mound for the felines. The lefty from Guantánamo, Cuba tossed five scoreless innings to knock his first win of the season. The hurler also fanned four and watched his ERA descend to 2.35 on the season.

Yadir Drake also got in the act for the Leones by collecting a hit in his four trips to the plate and also scoring on an occasion. The slugger who has been an integral part of the team’s offense this season saw his average fall to .338 on the year.
