But not only did he learn by visualizing athletes punching, delivering submissions, or finishing with shocking KOs, he also gained knowledge through practice. When he was just 13 years old, he achieved a green belt in judo and later a black belt in Tang Soo Do. And while he never made his professional MMA debut, his boss (Dana White) saw his prowess in hand-to-hand combat.

When was the fight against Trigg

For commercial reasons, the president, the fighters and the official voice usually attend different types of events. In one of them, the outcome was unexpected: “I participated in a television program that promoted the UFC and we were staying at the hotel Hard Rock and we had just finished doing the program and I went up to the room of Mike Goldberg (ex-UFC commentator),” Buffer began his story. “When we get to the elevator, the doors open and there’s Dana White and his security guard and then Frank Trigg walks into the elevator.”

Until that moment the sequence had nothing unusual, but in a matter of seconds the tranquility was completely destroyed. “I love watches and Dana had a really cool watch and I was like, ‘Dana, what a cool watch.’ Suddenly, they take me by the wrist and put another one around my neck. I turned around and it was Frank Trigg and I said, ‘Frank, you hit me, why the hell did you hit me?

And he added: “He told me some rude things. He said ‘Well, what are you going to do about it?’ I just reacted and threw him ‘pop, pop’, I punched him twice. Frank attacked me, he hit me harder and I had to hit him back harder. He was on!”

Far from being intimidated by having a professional in front of him, he decided to continue: “It was 10 floors; what does that take, 15, 20, 25 seconds? The 10 floors, we threw punches to the point where he raised one knee and kneed one of my friends! Dana was against an elevator wall, I don’t remember seeing what he did Dana White. He was too busy concentrating on what was going on and the adrenaline was pumping and that’s when the doors started to open.”Frank, finished!’ I looked at the floor and there was blood all over my shirt and my thumb was cut and you could see the bone in my thumb.”

The following testimony corresponds to his own Danawho perfectly remembers what happened: “Frank Trigg, at that time, was a ranked wrestler of UFC! Buffer’s blows just touched him. Buffer attacked him and he was on. They started throwing punches at each other and I was like, ‘Shit!’ I went back to the corner of the elevator and just watched and let it pass. They stopped fighting as soon as the elevator doors in the lobby opened! Buffer’s hand was severed with the watch of Frank Trigg And then those two shook hands, apologized, and Buffer went to the hospital to go get stitches.”
