LIV Smith still in the lead in London

This Saturday afternoon, the second round of the London leg of the second season of LIV took place. Leader after the first lap, Cameron Smith remains seated in the leader’s chair.

While he managed to maintain his first place (-12 total) and increase his lead at the top of the standings, Cameron Smith appeared rather disappointed when summing up his performance, just after finishing his second round with a birdie at the 18 (the sixth of his day, for two bogeys): “I think there is a bit of work to do tonight. I’m not happy with the way I hit the ball, but I’m very happy that I held on and managed to score. I didn’t feel comfortable today even though it was an easier day for some reason. I wasn’t able to play some shots well from the tees. The putting is good but it is absolutely necessary to work on the driver. »

The Australian is three steps ahead of Thomas Pieters, Marc Leishman and Louis Oosthuizen (-9 total). If the first two elements of the trio were already well ranked on Friday evening, the South African made a formidable rise in the leaderboard. Indeed, the captain of the Stinger GC returned a superb card of 63, thanks to an eagle on hole number 13, seven birdies and despite a bogey.
