Mexico Celebrates Historic Victory at 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, but Faces Challenges in Archery

The sport of our country is in a great moment after achieving a historical record in the XXIV edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games.

The Mexican delegation managed to win first place in the medal table by obtaining a total of 353 medals in San Salvador 2023.

In this way, Mexico was awarded the two-time championship and set a new record for gold medals by adding 145 and surpassing the 138 won in 2002.

However, not all the news is good for the national sport, since the World Archery (International Archery Federation) ignored the Mexican Archery Federation (FMTA) at the request of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (Conad).

“It is reported the ignorance of the Mexican Archery Federation, as the representative federation of Mexico before the World Archery, at the request of the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sport.”

“In this context and by instruction of the World Archery, a Transition Committee has been installed, in order to establish a new body that governs archery in our country, which has included officials from CONADE and the Mexican Olympic Committee”.
