NBA 2K24, the new chapter in the basketball series from Visual Concepts and 2K Sports, will not support next-gen features on PC. The confirmation comes from a new press release from 2K, where it is revealed that innovations such as ProPlay technology will not be available on PC for the fourth year in a row, as they would have excessively raised the requests for the minimum requirements. PC users, therefore, will only be able to play the last-gen version of the game, equal to that available on PS4 and Xbox One.
2K Sports’ decision certainly does not come as a surprise, given that it is from NBA 2K21 that PC users have to be satisfied with playing the last-gen version of the game. Unfortunately, introducing next-gen features raises the demands on the minimum requirements too much, and 2K Sports is not willing to limit the number of potential buyers to those with a high-end PC. However, that should change next year, as NBA 2K25 is only expected to arrive on PC and next-gen consoles.
NBA 2K24 will be available starting September 8 on all major platforms, including Switch. Players can pre-order the game now, and get several bonuses on day one including MyTEAM points, promo packs and skill boosts for the MyCareer mode. The first gameplay video will be shown during the summer.
