Nick Kyrgios recently participated in the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, an exhibition tournament in Los Angeles. On the sidelines of the event, Kyrgios criticized the sport’s hectic schedule and said it could see him retire from the sport in a few years, possibly before he turns 33.
Jimmy Arias, former world number 5, didn’t fail to laugh at Kyrgios’ remarks, pointing out that the Aussie rarely plays:
“I don’t know what he’s talking about when he says the schedule is out of control. He played one game this year. He seems to take time off every two years, so he should be able to play for another 25 years. He has only played once so far this year. I’m not sure his wrist, his knee or his tattoo hurt him too much. By playing Pokemon maybe. I don’t know. ยป
