The man from Olavarri won the title of the National Para-Badminton Tournament in Singles and Doubles that was played in Villa Mercedes. For his part in Mixed Doubles he fell in the final.
Last weekend the first National badminton and parabadminton tournament was held in the city of Villa Mercedes, San Luis. Lucas Díaz Aspiroz from Olavarrios was present in said competition.
The athlete from our city managed to establish himself champion in Singles in his WH1 category, champion in men’s doubles and runner-up in mixed doubles.
Around 80 athletes from different parts of the country participated, competing throughout the weekend in different categories and showed off all their skill on the four courts set up in the closed La Pedrera stadium.
It should be remembered that a few days ago the Olavarriense officially obtained his place for Argentina at the most important sporting event on the continent, the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, to be held in November in Chile. It should be noted that these games are one of the “doors” to access the places for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
