Paris to Host Grand Finale of Archery World Cup on Esplanade des Invalides

The final stage of the Archery World Cup will be held in Paris from August 15 to 20. The best competitors will have the honor of competing in the finals on the Esplanade des Invalides.

Paris once again goes into archery mode. After hosting a World Cup stage in 2021 and 2022, the French capital is once again hosting the world’s best archers from August 15 to 20. The first three days of competition will be used to decide between the archers engaged in recurve and compound bow at the Charléty Stadium.

56 nations are involved in this fourth and final stage of the World Cup. The best in the discipline will be present in Paris. Brazilian Marcus D’Almeida, Turkish Mete Gazoz, reigning Olympic champion, and American legend Brady Ellison and his 84 world medals for men will be in the running.

Among the women, Briton Penny Healey, just 18, appears as the new world No. 1, ahead of her teammate Bryony Pitman. The Korean An San, the first archer to win three gold medals in the same Olympic edition, will be there. In compound bow, Ella Gibson and Colombian Sara Lopez, world No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, will also be on the menu.

The finals at the Esplanade des Invalides

Once the qualifying phases are over, the best archers will meet at the Esplanade des Invalides on August 19 and 20. It is in this same place that they will evolve in a year for the Olympic events. An early test that will be scrutinized by the world’s archery elite in search of information on the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The athletes will shoot towards the Seine and the Pont Alexandre III with the Hôtel des Invalides and its golden dome behind them. An exceptional setting in front of “only” 1,500 spectators, where the Games will welcome 9,000 supporters.

In the extension, a village of animation and exhibitors will be accessible to all, free of charge and without reservation. Spectators will be able to take the opportunity to discover archery and try their hand at the discipline on the initiation stands made available.
