The Polish Iga Swiatek, who retained her title at Roland-Garros on Saturday, continues to reign over the WTA, according to the ranking published on Monday which sees her surprising rival in the final, the Czech Karolina Muchova, jump 27 places, in 16th position.
World No.1 for more than a year (April 2022), Swiatek, 22 and now four Grand Slam titles, is still ahead of Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (2nd), beaten in the semi-finals on clay in Paris.

Third place, on the other hand, changes hands since it is now occupied by Elena Rybakina. Although forfeited before her third round at Roland-Garros, the Kazakh doubles the American Jessica Pegula, who was also quickly eliminated at Porte d’Auteuil, where she reached the quarter-finals last year.

Garcia passes 4th, Haddad Maia joins the top 10 for the first time
Pegula therefore had a large number of points to defend and even fell to 5th place, behind the French Caroline Garcia (4th, +1), exit in the 2nd round at Roland-Garros, like last year. Despite a failed tournament, the French climbed one position and equaled her career best ranking, obtained in 2018 and at the end of 2022 after her coronation at the Masters.
Conversely, the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia is reaping the benefits of her fine run until the semi-finals, by entering the Top 10 for the first time in her career (10th, +4).
But this gain in the standings is nothing compared to that of Karolina Muchova, revelation of the fortnight: the 26-year-old Czech player, close to the feat in the final against Swiatek, is propelled to 16th place (+27 ), the best ranking of his career.
