PSG: handball players to conquer Japan too

Paris Saint-Germain definitely enjoyed their experience in Japan so much last season that they decided to send footballers back there this summer, but also handball players. While the stars of the first football team arrived in the land of the rising sun on Sunday, in Osaka more precisely, the handball section made the trip overnight from Wednesday to Thursday and has just landed in Tokyo.

Luc Steins, Nikola Karabatic, Elohim Prandi and their teammates, who resumed training in Paris on Monday, will remain in Japan until August 3, when Luis Enrique’s men will play their last warm-up match in Korea from South. The handball players’ program includes two friendly matches in the next eight days: the first this Monday, at 7:00 p.m. local time (12:00 p.m. in France) against Zeekstar Tokyo, the club in which a certain… Luc Abalo played last season, who took his retirement at the start of the year.

On Wednesday August 2, the day before their departure, the Reds and Blues will then offer themselves a gala match against… the national team of Japan, ranked 25th nation in the world by the International Handball Federation (IHF).

A welcome change of scenery after a season marked by disappointment in the Final 4 of the Champions League. Before the resumption of the championship, the Parisians will carry out a short internship in Germany in August (from 17 to 20), with two matches on the program. Then they will meet US Ivry on August 25 in Ivry-sur-Seine, travel to Frontingnan for the round of 16 of the Coupe de France on August 29 before a clash against HBC Nantes on September 2 on the occasion of the Champions Trophy.
