Santos asked, and Fluminense released midfielder Gabriel Pirani to be sold to a US club. It is worth remembering that the player was on loan from Peixe to Tricolor until the end of 2023. The values and the buying club were not revealed by either party.
However, according to the American press, Gabriel Pirani’s club will be DC United, from Washington. Thus, if the negotiation is confirmed, Gabriel Pirani will be trained by former English striker Wayne Rooney. The club, incidentally, is in eighth place in the MLS Eastern Conference, with 30 points from 23 games.

In an official note, Fluminense revealed that it released Gabriel Pirani because he showed interest in changing scenery. In addition, the club stated that it will have a percentage in case of a new sale. Check out the official note from Tricolor at the end of this report.
Gabriel Pirani is 21 years old and was revealed by Santos himself, the club where he played between 2020 and 2022, with 74 matches, 5 goals and 5 assists. Last year, the midfielder was loaned to Cuiabá, with a goal in ten games. In early 2023, he quickly passed through Santos, until he settled with Fluminense.
At Fluminense, the midfielder scored two goals in 24 games, one of them in a 2-1 victory over Flamengo, in the Guanabara Cup. With this goal, Flu became early champion of the state tournament, in advance. The other goal was scored in the 2-1 over Bahia, at the end of June.

Tricolor was consulted by the club from São Paulo if it would exercise the option to buy the athlete, given the interest of a club in the United States to buy him. The Fluminense then consulted the player, who expressed a desire to play in the foreign team. Tricolor is entitled to a showcase percentage in the negotiation.
