Saquon Barkley threatens to miss the entire season
RB Saquon Barkley appears to be on track to sit out the New York Giants’ new season, protesting the lack of a long-term contract after the July 17 deadline.
during the podcast The Money Matterswhich was recently recorded, barkley spoke of his options, and is tempting the possibility of not showing up for the rest of the year.
In NFL history, the most recent precedent for a running back doing the same was Le’Veon Bell, who in 2018 decided not to play for the Steelers after being tagged as a franchise player and not receiving the contract he requested. In this way, Barkley could prove his worth.
“My advantage is that I could say ‘f***’ to the Giants, I could say ‘f***’ to my teammates,” Barkley said. “And tell them, ‘Do you want me to show them what I’m worth? Do you want me to show them how valuable I am to the team? I will not introduce myself. I won’t play for a minute’. And that’s a play I could use.”
Barkley said she never thought she’d do that, “but now I’m at a point where I’m like, ‘Jesus, I might have to take it to this level.'”
He added that he doesn’t know if he’s going to take things to that point at this point, but it’s clear he’s going to be on his mind as the rest of the team heads to training ground.

Leonard Fournette trained with the Patriots
The New England Patriots are considering all their options to bring in a veteran running back right now. However, despite Las Vegas saying they are the favorites to sign RB Dalvin Cook, their real interest lies elsewhere.
RB Leonard Fournette is who HC Bill Belichick seems to want to partner his rising star RB Rhamondre Stevenson in the backfield. According to Tom Pelissero, he’s even already trained with the team with a view to getting signed in the near future.
Fournette is coming off 1,191 yards from scrimmage and six touchdowns with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, his rushing numbers have dropped significantly, averaging 3.5 yards per carry last year, while in 2021 he had 4.5 yards per carry.
This is not the first time they have shown interest in him either, since he also visited New England last year, before returning to Tampa Bay for another year.

Seahawks Revealed Retro 90’s Jersey
Like the Vikings and Buccaneers, the Seahawks joined the trend of bringing back classic jerseys from their history for the 2023 NFL Season.
Seattle revealed Wednesday that its old uniforms from the 1990s are officially back. The set consists of a royal blue jersey, a silver helmet with his old logo, and silver pants with apple green details.
The presentation was made through a video full of references nostalgic In it, we saw rookie WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba donning the uniform.
According to John Boylefrom the team’s website, the shirt also features a patch on the inside of the neck representing the Kingdom, the stadium the Seahawks used from their inaugural season in 1976 through 1999. Jets trade Denzel Mims to Lions
WR Denzel Mims ended his time with the New York Jets after trading with the Detroit Lions for his services less than 24 hours ago.

Zack Martin could miss Training Camp due to annoyance with his contract
The Dallas Cowboys will report to training camp next week, but not all of their starters seem willing to show up and join their teammates.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, G Zack Martin is considering not reporting to camp with the rest of the team. Martin hasn’t decided yet, but he assures that he is not at all happy with his current contract.
The deal in question was a six-year extension signed in 2018 with two more years to go. He is scheduled to receive $13.5 million this year and an unguaranteed salary base of $13 million in 2024.
A source Schefter consulted told him that Martin is considered “unfortunately underpaid relative to the market” so taking leave is a way of pushing for a revised contract. He also seems comfortable with the idea of being fined for it, since the NFL stipulates financial penalties for this type of situation.
