A security guard has died after being brutally beaten outside a nightclub in Hollywood, Los Angeles (USA), in the early hours of this Sunday.
The reason why a group of several people attacked the security guard to death is still unknown, Detective John Lamberti of the city police department explained to the Los Angeles Times.
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. local time on Sunday (9:00 GMT) outside the Dragonfly nightclub, located in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
As police explained to the Los Angeles Times, the security guard was involved in a “verbal altercation” with the attackers and then the situation turned violent.
Local KTLA television reported that the group that attacked the guard consisted of about ten people.
Another LAPD detective told KTLA that the guard was working at the nightclub when a large group, for unknown reasons, confronted him and forced him out into the street, at which point they kicked and stomped on him.
So far, police have not made any arrests and no motive for the attack has been established. The investigation continues.
