Between July 23rd and 29th, 24 track and field athletes will be in action for Switzerland in Maribor – including Lea Studer. “Lea owes her selection not least to her brilliant performance at the national youth meeting at the beginning of July,” said the Unterseen gymnastics club. “With an incredible run of 11.66 seconds, she equaled the U18 Swiss record – set by the young Mujinga Kambundji, by the way.” The young woman from Unterseen convinced the Swiss Olympic selection committee over her competitors – only one athlete is allowed per discipline and nation.

A total of around 2,500 athletes from 50 countries aged 13 to 18 compete at the EYOF in Maribor, according to Swiss Olympic. Switzerland will compete in nine of the eleven sports: 3×3 basketball, gymnastics, judo, athletics, mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, skateboarding and tennis.
