Those led by Carlos García were able to overcome the 11-4 defeat they suffered earlier against Cuba, which left them out of the final of the tournament. They decided to focus on the Dominican and were victorious.
RD took the lead with two runs in the first inning and extended their lead to 3-0 in the top of the third. However, at the end of that episode, Venezuela gave its first blow and turned the scoreboard with a cluster of five.
