The Brooklyn Nets Weigh Trade Offers for Royce O’Neale but Remain Patient in Building a Competitive Team

The Brooklyn Nets are trying to make the team as competitive as possible this offseason. After the 2022-23 academic year and the transfers for Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the organization looks to the future with several fronts still open. Although the franchise intends to undertake movements to balance the squad, they will measure the offers received well and will not make hasty decisions.

According to the journalist from HoopsHypeFor Michael Scotto, the Nets have received several trade proposals for Royce O’Neale, but none have met their demands. These would point to at least a first round pick, which is what the Utah Jazz received for him in late June 2022.

O’Neale has established himself as a valued addition throughout his six NBA seasons. After five years in Salt Lake City, the forward posted career-highs in scoring (8.8 points) and assists (3.7) in his only season in Brooklyn. The player has another season left on his contract at a rate of 9.5 million dollars, of which only 2.5 are guaranteed.

In any case, the Nets are not actively looking for his departure, so the franchises interested in him will have to increase their proposals a little more if they want to get his services. Or, alternatively, be included in a larger trade package in exchange for a piece of a certain status.
