the Hungarian Grand Prix extended to the calendar until 2032

Announced on the calendar until 2027, the GP sees its contract extended for five additional years.

The Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix, contested since 1986 on the Hungaroring route, has extended its presence on the calendar until 2032, the organizers of the world championship announced on Saturday on the sidelines of the GP disputed this weekend.

This new agreement follows the announcement that the Hungaroring “will undergo major development and refurbishment in the coming years, including the construction of a new pit building and a new main standChampionship promoter Formula One said in a statement. Announced on the calendar until 2027, the GP therefore sees its contract extended for another five years.

On the track, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) holds the record for victories in Hungary with eight wins. The Briton will try to regain his splendor on Sunday by signing his first victory in the premier class at the Hungaroring since the end of 2021. However, he will have a hard time facing the defending champion, the Dutchman Max Verstappen (Red Bull), in search of a seventh consecutive victory at the 11th round of the season.
