The works in the Monumental do not stop and continue at a very good pace. In recent days, some seats have begun to be removed from the upper stalls and in La Página Millionaria we will tell you when they will all be in place.

The work that has been done at the Monumental Stadium since 2020 is truly worth noting. In a country like Argentina, where the economy is volatile, being able to carry out a work of the size that River is doing and do everything on time is extremely positive. El Más Grande has one of the best stadiums on the continent and that is due to the improvements that have been made in recent years.
In the first stage of the work, the focus was on the playing field and for that the level of it was lowered by more than a meter and a half and it became a hybrid -95% natural and 5% synthetic- and the reality is that the ball flies and even the footballers of the Argentine National Team, most of whom play in Europe, praised the work done. Although at that stage, bathrooms, gastronomic stalls, connectivity and also visibility in the Centenario Alta were also improved.
The second stage of the work already had as its central axis the construction of the lower ring and it was completed ahead of schedule since the Lower Belgrano was inaugurated a semester earlier than announced. These modifications made the stadium have a capacity for more than 86 thousand spectators. It should be noted that the new seats are already in the lower ring, it only remains to place them in the Sívori Media. They are retractable, anti-vandal seats and advanced technology. It goes without saying that the wooden ones that were withdrawn are much more comfortable.
What still remains to be done is to place seats in the entire upper ring. This entails replacing the plastic ones in the Belgrano and San Martín stalls and also putting the Sívori and Centenario headends from scratch. In these two sectors -which were previously popular- they will now become stalls. Currently in the high heads the fans watch the game standing up, although in the near future they will see it sitting down.
The work to remove the seats from the San Martín and Belgrano Altas has already begun. By the end of July, the seats will arrive to be placed in those sectors. This task will be carried out in full competition for the League Cup and also for the final phase of the Copa Libertadores, also in the midst of the recitals that will be held at the Monumental. The club has a deadline for the entire upper ring to have all the new seats in the month of January 2024. The intention will be that the first official match of the Millionaire next year will be with all the new seats. During the second semester of 2023, new and old seats will coexist in the high stalls.
What important change will there be for the match against Racing?
The Biggest will close the Professional League against Racing. Although official confirmation remains, the meeting will be on Friday, July 28 at night. For that game there will be an important change compared to what was the duel against Estudiantes last Saturday: in the Sívori Media stalls there will be a flat that covers the upper part, since the construction of the boxes in that sector has begun. This same thing had happened at the Centenario when the boxes were built there.
