A glass room on the 38th floor of the Warsaw Spire skyscraper in Warsaw’s Wola district. It was here that Jacek Jaroszewski met with journalists on Monday morning. The team doctor presented his point of view on the dispute with the Polish national team player Grzegorz Krychowiak. Sorry, I’ll look at my notes. Jaroszewski: All these allegations are ridiculous
It certainly wasn’t boring, sometimes nervous, because the Onet journalist Janusz Schwertner appeared at the meeting, who was still inquisitive. It was he who published a text a week ago in which Krychowiak accused Jaroszewski of fraud. – Today, half of Poland thinks that I am a fraud. And I was brutally attacked at a point where I had no chance to defend myself. From the moment of contact with me to the publication of the text, 15 minutes passed, and I was on vacation with my family. The situation has not been verified, and all the things written in the article are not true, Jaroszewski argued on Monday.
I didn’t cheat, I was cheated. I took over the company in accordance with the regulations. I couldn’t rob the Krychowiak brothers, because the amounts paid by them are only repayable loans with interest. In addition, I took on the entire debt of the company. All these allegations are ridiculous and have caused me and my family a lot of damage.
“I regret that I didn’t talk only to Grzegorz”
On Monday, Jaroszewski spoke to journalists and answered their questions for nearly two hours. He revealed, among others how the Medklinika company was founded together with the brothers Grzegorz and Krzysztof Krychowiak. – It has been my dream for years to start a clinic. I talked about creating such a place with many people, but they were always people who came to me on their own. It was the same with Gregory. Today I regret that I did not talk only to him, but also to his brother Krzysztof. We assumed that the company of the Krychowiak brothers would borrow PLN 10 million. It was supposed to be a modest clinic, but Grzegorz decided that he was interested in something big. However, it soon turned out that the costs are much higher. Then there was a change in the share offer. We had with Paul [Bamberem] receive 20 percent instead of 40 percent as before. Jaroszewski explained.
Eventually, the plan to create a hospital was abandoned. In the meantime, however, a smaller clinic was established. – We set up a second company which, even before the hospital was built, was supposed to gather doctors and other top specialists, as well as attract patients. Once it was operational, we concluded that I didn’t need partners here. I told that to the Krychowians. Then, however, we agreed that they would borrow three million zlotys, and we with Paweł Bamber – staying with our 40 percent. shares – we will pay them back over the years of operation. Assuming that after paying off the three million loan, the arrangement would still be the same, i.e. Paweł and I would still give 40 percent to the clinic. our profits – explained Jaroszewski on Monday.
Jaroszewski claims that Krychowiak owes him money
The conflict between the parties has begun to escalate in recent months. First of all, between Jaroszewski and Bamber and Krzysztof Krychowiak, who from June 2020 to January 2023 was the president of Medklinika Inwestycje, the mother company of Medklinika.
– Everything was managed by Krzysztof as the president of the board. I had a problem with getting access to the account or documentation for both companies from him. On numerous requests from the lawyer, we received an answer that we were to buy documents. We haven’t gotten everything yet. In addition, the Krychowiak brothers previously told us that they had invested PLN 4.5 million in the clinic. It seemed a lot to me, because we agreed on PLN 3 million. We paid the difference, and later our accountant in the audit based on invoices calculated that PLN 2.6 million was spent, not PLN 4.5 million. Several hundred thousand zlotys have not been returned to us to this day, Jaroszewski said.
At the Monday meeting, Jaroszewski enumerated a number of allegations against Krychowiak: running the company contrary to the contract, making financial transfers without contacting the shareholders, lack of consultation of any decisions with the Supervisory Board, suspicion of intentionally overstating investment costs, acting to the detriment of the company, purchasing movables from the clinic’s funds, which were not intended for their activities, the lack of access to documents.
Cezary Kulesza has been aware of the case for half a year
Jaroszewski on Monday assured that the president of PZPN Cezary Kulesza has been aware of the case for half a year, and recently also the coach Fernando Santos. Although the conflict has only been escalating for a few months, it has already begun. – It was already during the World Cup in Qatar. However, Grzegorz and I approached it very professionally. He will certainly confirm that during the tournament not a single word was said about our business – Jaroszewski said on Monday.
When asked at the end if he wants to continue working for the national team, he replied in the affirmative, but added: – I have been in this team for years. Out of passion and love, but also out of a sense of duty. Certainly not for the money, because if I was looking at it, I would be long gone. However, if anyone thinks I’m a problem, the well-being of the national team will be more important to me than my presence. I will accept any decision.
Krychowiak stopped at 98 games
Jaroszewski has been dealing with the health of Polish footballers – with short breaks – since 2008. It was then that Krychowiak also made his debut in the senior Polish national team as a 17-year-old – in a friendly match against Serbia, played in Antalya, Turkey (1:0). The national team selector was Leo Beenhakker, but Krychowiak settled in the national team only three years later. And he played it regularly for over a decade. In principle, until this year, when Santos did not appoint Krychowiak for either the March or June grouping of the Polish national team.
Krychowiak played 98 matches for the national team, scored five goals and made six assists. Last season he was a player of Saudi Al Shabab, where he was on loan from FK Krasnodar. After the termination of the contract with the Russian club, it seemed that Krychowiak would stay at Al Shabab, but unexpectedly, another team from the Saudi league – Abha Football Club, whose coach has been Czesław Michniewicz joined the fight for the 33-year-old defensive midfielder.
