Tony Parker Welcomes Victor Wembanyama to San Antonio: A Meeting of French Basketball Legends

Less than two weeks after the NBA draft, Victor Wembanyama and Tony Parker met in San Antonio.

Between past and future. A legend and a (possible) future monument of French sport. Tony Parker welcomed Victor Wembanyama to his home in San Antonio on Sunday. The two Frenchmen watched France-Spain, final of the U19 World Cup, together, the opportunity to dismiss rumors of a possible disagreement between the two men.

”Look who’s visiting today! Victor, welcome to San Antonio!” expressed ”TP” on Instagram. Social media posts show Wembanyama with Tony Parker’s children, Liam and Josh.

Drafted in first position by the Spurs of San Antonio, “Wemby” had dined a few days ago with some legends of the franchise: Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Manu Ginobili or Sean Elliott.

July 7, probable date of Wembanyama’s first game with San Antonio

After renouncing to participate in the World Cup (August 25-September 10) with the France team, Victor Wembanyama has ensured his presence in the Summer League.

His first game is scheduled for July 7 against the Charlotte Hornets, carried by 2023 second draft pick Brandon Miller.
