He leaves behind his still young son and his wife Leonardo Ciolino, the 46-year-old electrician who died on Friday 14 July in a tragic accident at work, after being overwhelmed by his van in via Gallarate in Milan.
The 46-year-old lived in Cassina de’ Pecchi, in the north-eastern hinterland of the city, with his wife and their child. Passionate about sports, he practiced basketball and judo at Asd Arcobaleno, like his son. Several moved comments published on social media after the news of the death. Those who knew him describe him as a hard worker, a generous person and a devoted husband and father, who always put his family first. A believer, with his wife he attended the Maria Madre parish of the church and the oratory of San Domenico Savio in Cassina.
The accident at work
Based on what has been reconstructed so far, Ciolino was crushed by his van after he allegedly tried to stop it while it was moving on the downhill ramp where it was parked. The firefighters had tried to save him by freeing him, lifting the van with air cushions, but it was too late for him. At the moment it is not yet clear why the vehicle moved backwards.
