Tuesday, July 18, 1:04 p.m.: full throttle in the morning, second session at 4:30 p.m
Things went well in the morning. After an intensive warm-up on the adjoining square with performance analyst Jan Schimpchen, we went over to the main facility, where there was a lot of banging in various forms of play.
The central midfielders in particular were asked to defend and distribute balls. But the goalkeeper trio around Dennis Seimen, Florian Schock and Dominik Draband also got a lot to do. Finally, the field was shortened. The respective teams powered in alternation of three minutes. Only the ailing Enzo Millot and Fabian Bredlow (both muscular problems) missed the training, Borna Sosa and Serhou Guirassy were controlled individually after about 45 minutes. At 4.30 p.m. the second unit of the day is on the program.
Tuesday, July 18, 12:20 p.m.: Mittelstadt has to stop training
A moment of shock during the first full training session in Neukirchen: Maximilian Mittelstädt had to end the morning session prematurely. The newcomer had blocked a solid finish in the air and then remained lying on the grass with a pained face. After a brief treatment by team doctor Raymond Best and Physio Manuel Roth, we left the pitch. A diagnosis is still pending.
Tuesday 18 July 9am: First full session, Mavropanos expected
After the slight gallop on Monday evening after the arrival of the bus, the first full session in Neukirchen will follow on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Greece international Konstantinos Mavropanos is also expected at the training camp later today, while Japan’s Hiroki Ito and Wataru Endo join the team on Wednesday. If you want to follow the training on site, you will certainly find a place in the stands at the USC Neukirchen facility.
Monday, July 17, 8:15 p.m.: VfB starts with a loose unit, but without a trio
After the bus ride, coach Sebastian Hoeneß invited the pros onto the pitch for about an hour, which is right next to the Swabian team hotel. Goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow and midfielder Enzo Millot both missed training because of muscular problems, and attacking man Silas had a slight knee problem.

The first full day of training camp is on the agenda on Tuesday. At 10 a.m. the first unit of the day rises.
Monday, July 17, 6:51 p.m.: Arrival and first unit in Neukirchen
The VfB entourage arrived in Austria at around 6:20 p.m. with a delay of around 90 minutes. In the morning, the team completed one more unit in Stuttgart, and in the evening, after the bus ride, a second unit is to follow in Neukirchen.
