Victor Wembanyama’s first Summer League game sold out

While the 2023-2024 NBA season (October 2023 – April 2024) is far from having started, Victor Wembanyama is already attracting crowds across the Atlantic. The former Mets 92 player, drafted in first position last month by the San Antonio Spurs – a first for a Frenchman – will indeed participate in the Summer League (from July 7 to 17, in Las Vegas), a competition summer during which the NBA teams compete to test multiple team compositions, different from the one that will be aligned during the regular season.

Many young players participate, in addition to rookies and players who have little playing time during the regular season. Victor Wembanyama will therefore be part of the game with the Spurs and the first meeting of the Texas franchise on July 7 (on the night of Friday to Saturday, 3 a.m. French time) against the Charlotte Hornets has already been announced to be sold out. The 19,500 seats at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas will therefore be all occupied.
