Polish volleyball players have already achieved incredible success in the League of Nations. They became the revelation of the tournament by winning the regular phase. In 12 games, they suffered only two defeats. The 13th meeting was Wednesday’s quarter-final with Germany, in which they triumphed again 3:1. Now the competition will be for medals.

The final tournament in American Arlington was entered by the eight best teams out of 16 that appeared in the main phase. The quarter-final pairings were determined according to a simple rule. The first team in the table played eighth, the second against seventh, the third against sixth and the fourth against fifth. In this way, Poland found itself on the German team. Who will she face in the semi-finals?
This was decided by the clash of the fourth Chinese women with the fifth Brazil. Although it was the Asians who were seeded higher, the South American volleyball players were given more chances to win by the bookmakers. Unexpectedly, however, the Chinese team triumphed 3:1 and Stefano Lavarini’s team will play against them on Saturday, July 15 at 23:00.

Regardless of the result, there will be one more game after that – the final or the match for third place. In it, the White-Reds will meet the United States or Turkey. The Americans beat Japan 3:1, and the Turks won the European champions – Italy without losing a set.

The match for the third place is scheduled for Sunday, July 16 at 21:00 Polish time. The final will take place on Monday, July 17, 30 minutes after midnight, unless the first leg is extended. A medal made of any metal would be a historical success for Polish women, because so far they have not won it in this event, not once, nor in the Grand Prix tournament (because it was under this name until 2017).
