Last year, the consortium of developers did not yet know the precise location of the future park, nor the number of wind turbines.
“There will be between four and nine of them, said Achim Langer, spokesperson for Courant d’Air at the time. These could be located on the territory of three municipalities, namely, Vielsalm, Trois-Ponts and Saint-Vith. As for the choice of the configuration, aligned, in bouquet or in curve, it will be carried out, by the municipality, on the basis of the results of the preliminary study. With regard to the height of the masts, two variants are being studied: 130 m with a total height, pale lifted, of 200 m; and 140 m and a total height of 220 m.” In March 2023, the measuring mast was vandalized.
Since then, the project has evolved. The number of wind turbines, the configuration and the location have been specified. The information meeting prior to carrying out an environmental impact study is organized by the partnership between the companies Luminus, Courant d’Air and Renner Energies, this Wednesday July 5, at 7 p.m., at the village hall of Petit-Thier.
The project concerns the construction and operation of a park of 8 wind turbines with a maximum unit power of 7 MW, on the territory of the communes of Vielsalm, Trois-Ponts and Saint-Vith. The presentation of the project by the partners will be followed by the presentation of the impact studies office CSD Engineers and an exchange of questions and answers.
The purpose of the RIP is to allow the applicant to present his project, the public to obtain information and to make observations and suggestions concerning the project, but also to highlight specific points which could be addressed in the study of impacts and to present technical alternatives that could be considered by the applicant so that they are taken into account when carrying out the impact study.
