VARESE, 21 August 2023-It officially kicked off today the 2023-2024 season of Pallacanestro Varese which in recent days has welcomed staff and players to the city who will defend the red and white colors of Openjobmetis next year. Coach Bialaszewski and his boys have begun their preparation at the Varese Campus where they will remain until Saturday 2 September, the day of the first friendly match to be held in Sondrio against Germani Brescia for the first challenge of the Valtellina Summer League (6.00 pm at the Palascieghi-Pini); the next day (Sunday 3) the red and whites will challenge Basket Sam Massagno (always at 18:00), while the following week (8 and 9 September), they will compete in the “Dalla Riva Sportfloors” Trophy together with Treviso, Brindisi and Venice to be held in Cavallino-Treporti at the Palasport Atleti Azzurri d’Italia. Openjobmetis will meet Reyer on Friday 8 September at 20:30; in case of victory they will play the final the day after at 20:30 against the winner between Nutribullet and Happy Casa, while in case of defeat the final for third and fourth place will be at 17:00. On Wednesday 13 September (times yet to be defined), the doors of the Palasport “Lino Oldrini” will open for an open-door friendly against Freiburgwhile on Saturday 16th Woldetensae and his companions will face Cremona for the Lombardy Trophy to be held at the PalaFitline in Desio at 8.30pm.
From Tuesday 19 to Friday 22 September, Openjobmetis will move for the fourth consecutive year to Gressoneythe splendid tourist resort in Valle d’Aosta which will host the training camp for the red and whites and which will anticipate the departure of the red and whites to Antalya for the preliminary rounds of the FIBA Champions League.
