Georges Mikautadze will indeed be medically examined at Ajax on Tuesday, you know The Telegraph. The newspaper thus confirms reporting by journalists Mohamed Toubache-Ter and Fabrizio Romano. Author Mike Verweij also provides additional details about the negotiations between Ajax and FC Metz.
According to Verweij, director of football affairs Sven Mislintat first made an offer of 15 million euros and a maximum of 5 million euros in bonuses, after which Metz made a counter-proposal of 17 million euros, plus 3. That is now being discussed. The potential total amount is the same in both cases, but Metz wants a larger part of the transfer fee to consist of bonuses. Previous reports spoke of a transfer fee of 10 or 15 million euros, so the amount is considerably higher than expected.

Mikautadze was employed by Metz for 44 matches, in which he scored 25 times and gave 10 assists. On behalf of Seraing he made 57 appearances, 36 goals and 4 assists. In Amsterdam, he is a cheaper alternative to Atlanta United star Thiago Almada.
