The new center of the Guerreiras do Vôlei Claire Felix presented itself to Fluminense this Wednesday (02/08). Shortly after arriving in Rio de Janeiro, the 28-year-old American, 1.98 m tall, went to Laranjeiras and took a tour of the historic headquarters. In the afternoon, the athlete began the process of medical evaluations with professionals from the club.
Claire carried out a functional evaluation with the physiotherapist Gabriel Alves, in addition to a nutritional one, with the nutritionist Lorena Alencar, and a stress test, with the doctor Gustavo Campos. Before joining the team in the pre-season, the athlete will still undergo other evaluations.
Smiling, the center said they were excited to defend the green, white and garnet.
“I feel at home in Brazil, so I’m very happy to be here. Fluminense is a club with a lot of tradition in several sports, and I appreciate that very much. Also, I understand that the union, which I know there is between the commission and the cast, makes us even stronger. I’m looking forward to training with the team and for the season. I came here to win trophies”, said the American.
Claire Felix began her career at the University of California Los Angeles in the 2013/2014 season. The midfielder went through Team Durham, from England, and LP Vampula, from Finland, before defending the extinct Curitiba, in 2019/2020, when she ranked fourth in the ranking of players with the greatest efficiency in attack.
In the last two seasons, Claire played for RC Cannes, from France. Before joining Fluminense, she was runner-up and secured the position of the best blocker in the French league.
