WHAT HAPPENED?
Indonesian national team player Asnawi Mangkualam failed to continue as a starter when Jeonnam Dragons won a narrow 1-0 win over Bucheon 1995 at the Gwangyang Football Stadium, Saturday (5/8) afternoon WIB, in the continuation of K League 2 2023.

Coach Le Jang-kwan did not play Asnawi as a starter in this match, and only brought on the former PSM Makassar player in the 84th minute to replace Kim Soo-beom.
It’s just that, half a minute after setting foot on the field, Asnawi was already rewarded with a yellow card, for committing a fairly serious foul on Bucheon’s substitute, Welo Lupeta.
While Jeonnam’s only winning goal was produced through a long-range shot from the left side of the attack that was released by Go Tae-won when the match entered the tenth minute.
BIG PICTURE
Asnawi still hasn’t gotten a regular place in Jeonnam’s starting eleven, even though in the previous three matches he always appeared from the first minute. Asnawi had shown a disappointing performance when Jeonnam was defeated by Seongnam 2-1.
Apart from that, despite winning, Jeonnam’s position has not changed in seventh place in the standings with 34 points.
NEXT FOR ASNAWI
It seems Asnawi still has to fight for a place in the starting eleven consistently, considering that Jeonnam had an away game against fourth place in the standings Busan IPark, Tuesday (15/88).
