“Yellow Tigers” convert the fifth match point
After a hard fight, Belgium’s volleyball players clinched their second victory at the home European Championships – the games are also taking place in Germany, Estonia and Italy: The “Yellow Tigers” defeated Slovenia 3:1.
After the clear 3-0 win against Hungary, Belgium also got off to a good start against the Slovenians, who were ten places lower in the world rankings: The “Yellow Tigers” won the first two rounds with 25:18 and 25:20. But then the tide turned, the outsider decided the third set 25:21 in his favor. The fourth round was dramatic and the Belgian sextet finally won 34:32. The “Tigers” fended off five set points and missed four match points before the fifth finally brought victory.
